Up for auction is an exclusive pair of historic Zenit E SLR bodies (only camera bodies), aesthetically restored and reinterpreted in an artistic key through meticulous handcrafted laboratory work.

The original leatherette has been completely removed and manually replaced with two refined, unique finishes, using professionally printed material, transforming these iconic armored tanks of Soviet photography into true works of art and collectible pieces.

The two models in detail:
Zenit E Silver (Damascene Finish / Classic Geometries):
The chrome body welcomes a coating featuring a sumptuous classic geometric damascene-inspired pattern. The warm bronze and gold tones create a perfect contrast with the metallic silver finish of the body, recalling the elegance of high textile and decorative craftsmanship of bygone times.

Zenit E All-Black (Historical-Literary Finish):
The rare entirely black Zenit E frames a coating with deep cultural impact. The pattern celebrates the artistic and literary universe of the past: cameos with classic period portraits alternating with gilded ornamental motifs, open books, inkwells, and quills for writing. A piece with strong evocative and romantic character.

Condition and Restoration:
The cameras underwent a lab process to replace the coating.

Aesthetics: As visible from the close-up photos, the application of the new decorative skin was carried out with precision around the controls, the self-timer, and the logos. The bodies show the normal, charming signs of aging on the metal parts that attest to their historical authenticity.

Mechanical: Shutter speeds and winding respond; the curtains are intact and the self-timer winds and fires correctly. The selenium cell of the light meter responds to light (however, given the age of the instruments, photometric precision is not guaranteed to the millimeter). The viewfinders show the usual small dust grains typical of age, which do not impair use.
