Large Antique Bohemian Opaline Glass Toiletry Box with Hand-Painted Relief Enamel – ca. 1890-1910 (Moser style)
Description:
An exceptionally large and rare antique Bohemian toiletry box (jewelry box / dresser box) of good quality, dating from the fin de siècle (ca. 1890–1910).
The object is made of thick, vibrant turquoise-blue opaline glass and is fully handmade, as proven by the expertly flat and smoothly polished pontil mark on the underside.
Decoration & Fittings:
The lid and walls are adorned with high-quality, hand-painted relief enamel decoration.
The design features a striking modern and graphic pattern: a central, richly colored circle surrounded by stylized, minimalist floral motifs and clean, rhythmic beaded borders. The authentic brass mount fits closely around the glass and is equipped with a functional hinge, finely turned edges, elegant dangling ring handles at the sides, and rests on sturdy, classic ball feet.

Bohemia (Czech Republic), in the style of top ateliers such as Moser Karlsbad.
Dating:
Circa 1890 – 1910 (Late Victorian / Art Nouveau period).

Opaline glass, enamel, brass fittings.

Condition:
In good but used condition with minimal signs of age consistent with its age; the brass ring does not close completely at the hinge point. (please view the photos carefully for your own impression). The mount otherwise closes well.
