AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

French Art Nouveau Cast-Iron Garden Armchair with Green Patina, 1900–1920

French-made garden armchair with a cast-iron frame, metal seat and distinctive arched openwork. Its durable construction reflects the type of outdoor seating used in French public gardens, café terraces, hotel grounds and private estates during the early 20th century.

Origin: France. A diamond-shaped foundry emblem is preserved at the centre of the crossed rear supports.

Production period: 1900–1920.

The design combines flowing Art Nouveau arches with restrained geometric lines. Its open structure, compact proportions and functional metal construction illustrate the relationship between decorative design and outdoor furniture at the beginning of the 20th century.

The chair retains a richly weathered green surface with layered patina, natural oxidation and traces of long-term outdoor use. These age-related characteristics give each section of the frame an individual texture and established period appearance. It will be shipped exactly as shown in the photographs, so please examine all images carefully.

Dimensions: 67.5 cm high, 42.5 cm wide, 37.5 cm deep.
