Description from the seller
Splendid coffee or entryway sideboard original from the 1950s/60s of the 20th century, characterized by an asymmetric and geometric design that combines elements of late Italian Déco style with the clean lines of the very early Mid-Century Modern. Wood structure with a precious walnut veneer featuring warmly flame-like grain. At the bottom, a closed storage compartment with two doors, of which the left side is very distinctive, opening at a 180° angle, with original geometric brass handles in gilt. The top part unfolds across a double level with an open shelf and a vertical divider, offering a practical display space. It is supported by the iconic needle/spindle legs, nicknamed "pencil" legs, tilted to enhance its aesthetic. It is strictly a hallway piece, but also suitable as a bar corner/cocktail area; the upper surface can be used as a drop zone for keys, and the lower compartments for books or small decorative objects. This is a unique piece, completely original in every part, artisanally handcrafted on commission, so there are no similar copies; the condition is excellent.
