Description from the seller
A beautiful slab of tiger's eye quartz from the South African deposits. This material is rather popular in lapidary production, but in collecting circles not so much, maybe because it's pretty well known or because most products made from it are not created with the collector market in mind, but once you start appreciating this material for what it is—beautiful chatoyant quartz colored by limonite and riebeckite inclusions—it is definitely a lot harder to dismiss it as just another polished rock for non collectors to use as jewelry or decoration, which of course are perfectly good uses for it. In particular, this slab shows well defined banding with a pretty good polish on its surface and a yellow and orange dominated coloration caused by the presence of microscopic limonite inclusions.
