Clock - Wood - 1910-1920

Antique oak regulator (wall clock with a pendulum), probably manufactured in Germany during the interwar period (circa 1920s to 1930s). Notable clockmakers who produced exactly this model and housing design include Kienzle, Junghans, and Mauthe. Characteristics of this clock: Case: A classic rounded arch top made of solid oak with Art Deco–like vertical fluting and subtle woodcarving on the sides. Dial: A metal dial with a double time indication: the standard Arabic numerals (1–12) and an inner ring with the 24-hour notation (13–24). Striking mechanism: From the hole in the dial, the clock features a mechanical spring-driven movement with a gong or bim-bam strike that must be wound with a winding key. Pendulum & Glass: The bottom features characteristic facet-cut glass in three vertical panes, behind which the pendulum is visible.
