Antique ecclesiastical tabernacle – brass – with cross and original key
Distinctive and imposing ecclesiastical tabernacle, executed in a combination of brass-colored metal and equipped with a large cross
The front is richly designed with decorative metal bands, rivets and a central ornament. On the front stands the Latin word “Sanctus” (Holy). Also along the lower edge is a Latin inscription.
The tabernacle has two swinging doors. On the inside the light lining is still present. The original key is also present, which is a nice plus for such ecclesiastical objects.
Due to its substantial height of no less than 93 cm this is an impressive object that originally would have had a prominent place in a church, chapel or monastery. Today particularly suitable for a collector of ecclesiastical art, as a religious interior piece or for museum/decorative use.
The object shows signs of age and use that fit its ecclesiastical use and age. See the photos for a good impression of execution and condition.
