Nautical clock (bulkhead clock) from the second half of the 19th century (circa 1870-1890), mounted on a splendid and valuable original square wooden plate with reinforced metal corner brackets. The chosen wood lends the object a timeless elegance.
This timepiece represents an example of high-era technical workmanship intended for professional on-board use. The dial, clean and without marks (typical of the period), stands out for two features highly sought after by nautical antique collectors: the central second hand and the micrometric time regulator lever (Fast/Slow) positioned in a curved notch at 12 o’clock.
