Table lamp - Gilt brass, Murano glass

1970s/80s lamp. In Murano glass. The lamp has an inner wooden base to which a circular brass piece is applied; that is the part seen in the photo as the base. Then the lamp stem, with an amphora-shaped body, is made of white opaline glass, decorated with a spiral hot-applied of colored glass threads in a contrasting hue, in this case brick red. This type of workmanship diffuses light softly and evenly. On top it is completed by a brass closure from which the white plastic structure extends, housing the bulb that illuminates the upper part. The lampshade is pleated/accordion-style. The lamp has a double electrical system, so it can be used either by turning on only the bulb inside the glass body or via the switch located under the lampshade, also using the bulb in the upper part. By using both bulbs, as seen in some photos, the glass part emits an elegant atmosphere. A lamp suitable for placement on a side table next to the sofa, on a desk, in an office, or on a sideboard. It is fully functional. Measurements: height 60 cm; width 41 cm; depth 41 cm. Height of the glass part 35 cm. The lamp has been used and the brass parts show signs of aging from normal use, as visible in the photo.
