Description from the seller

Old Uranium-glass French siphon — A. Sarrault, Gien

Antique French siphon for carbonated waters, probably from the early decades of the 20th century, made in thick blue glass with uranium content. Under 395 nm ultraviolet light it fluoresces green, visible in the photographs.

The body retains an elaborate acid-etched decoration with vegetal motifs and the inscriptions:

«Brasserie de la Meuse – A. Sarrault – Eaux gazeuses – Gien»

The metal head also bears markings:
«A. Sarrault – Gien – Preslier Orléans»
«Durafort – Paris 14 – Conforme à la loi»

The coincidence of A. Sarrault, Gien in both the glass and the metal head indicates that both parts belong to the same original set. It retains the inner tube and the complete upper mechanism.

It shows wear consistent with its age: scratches, small marks, bubbles and irregularities typical of antique glass, slight opacity and patina, oxidation and signs of use on the metal head. All details are clearly shown in the photographs, without concealing defects or performing restorations.

Height: 30 cm
Weight: approximately 1,400 g
Condition: good for its age, with signs of use and aging.
