CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PICTOGRAPHY
Base of the plaque in lime and plaster
Color pigments resistant over time
Formally worked individually by hand
Pictography is a technique patented by Bottega Tifernate. For the fresco the same type of lime used by Giotto for his paintings is used, a lime free of salts and alkalis which otherwise, over time, could “corrode” and thus deteriorate the work. The realization is carried out fresco so as to allow the color to become one with the pigment of the lime as it dries. The colors are oxide-based and therefore do not vary in intensity over time. Each panel is worked individually and retouched by hand by expert painters with academic training.
The numbered guarantee certificate
The Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, through the guarantee and authenticity certificate, attests to the provenance and technical characteristics of the work, the dimensions, the weight, the silver content, the limited edition, the authors and the event celebrated. All as testimony to the very high artistic value of the master engravers of the School of Medal Art at the Mint.
