Antique French Art Nouveau mantel clock "Sourire d’Avril" by Monica, dating to circa 1900–1910, in spelter with a veined pink marble base, 52 cm high, 28 cm wide, 17 cm deep, 8‑day mechanical movement with winding key, half‑hour strike on one bell, good condition with minor ageing.

A beautiful antique French Art Nouveau mantel clock, "Sourire d'Avril" (April Smile).
A stunning and authentic French Art Nouveau mantel clock dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
This elegant clock features a graceful sculpture of a young woman in patinated zinc alloy (régule), symbolizing spring, titled "Sourire d'Avril" (April Smile).
The signature "Monica" appears both on the original brass plaque and is cast directly onto the metal base.
Sculpture: Titled "Sourire d'Avril" (April Smile), it captures the classic, flowing lines and naturalistic essence of Art Nouveau style.
Base and Case: Crafted from a magnificent, solid block of veined pink/breccia marble, set on graceful, stylized, gilded metal feet. Dial: White porcelain/enamel dial with Arabic numerals, decorated with delicate floral garlands, sits beneath a hinged glass bezel.
Movement: Traditional French 8-day mechanical movement. Complete with winding key and pendulum (as pictured).
Condition Report: Appearance: Excellent antique condition with a rich, authentic patina consistent with age on the metal parts and minor surface signs of wear.
No major chips or cracks were found on the marble.
