Large Folio (48 cm x 34.5 cm). 17 full-page-photographs on heavy archival paper. Brass-tube spine over printed stiff boards. Delightful collection of the 1950's L.A. Jazz scene, photographed by Hollywood artist Bob Willoughby. The b/w reproductions of photographs are of Wardell Gray, Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkinds, Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond, Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong, Big Jack McNeely, and many others. Translated by Caroline Mähl. Text in German with some English. Jack Montrose and Russ Freeman spontaneously agreed to commit a few of their recollections to paper for the new edition, and their contributions certainly add to the value of this documentation.
