Wall clock - Antique - Wrought iron, Cast brass - 1750-1800

Offered due to downsizing my own collection

Rooster clock (Comtoise) from the old County (Jura), dated 1760-1790, with spindle movement, cast piece featuring a rooster looking over its shoulder and two rising hens, in the medallion three hearts with a double meaning, the love for the King or indeed the Revolution.

Tall pendulum case, and a very long pendulum rod.

The dial has a touched-up spot, not distracting.

With the accompanying heavy bronze bell, old weights, key and stand.

Dimensions are: 38 cm high, 24 cm wide and 14 cm deep.

The clock runs and strikes as it should.
