Description from the seller

Vase/candelabra zigzag model from Jan van der Vaart's own studio.
In good, near-new condition with a tiny glaze speck at a point near the top.
Well signed with the wheel and van der Vaart, 82.

See the attached photos to judge for yourself.

In November 2000, Jan van der Vaart, one of the Netherlands' most important ceramic artists, passed away. A pioneer, an innovator, an influential mentor, but above all a gifted designer and producer of functional and autonomous ceramics. His work is very recognizable. Those describing it choose terms like sleek, geometric, architectural. Among his best-known designs are the impressive tulip towers that can be built from separate elements to well over one meter high. In 2025, twenty-five years after his death, his atelier has been made digitally accessible in a 360-degree environment by the Princessehof. In the Kunstmuseum Den Haag there is a large retrospective, and the art book foundation Cometa* presents a special publication.
