Beautiful original set of two Space Age table lamps from Doria Leuchten, produced in West Germany in the 1970s. These characterful design lamps are an excellent example of the innovative German lighting design from the Space Age period, in which sculptural forms and especially glasswork were central.
The lamps are fitted with elegant white plastic bases and large, heavy glass spheres made of pressed glass. The shades feature a striking organic relief with a wavy, almost ice- or lava-stone-like pattern. This creates a wonderful diffused light effect and a particularly play of light and shadow in the surroundings when the lamps are lit.
