Splendid and iconic industrial work lamp Jielde (classic articulated arm model, identified as Standard or Loft), designed in France in the 1950s by Jean-Louis Domecq (whose acronym Ji-el-dé gives the brand its name).

Here are some details that make it a unique design piece and highly sought after:

The wire-free joints: The true genius of this lamp lies in its joints. Domecq patented an internal copper electrical contact system (inside the spherical joints) that allows the arms to be oriented and rotated in any direction without risking breaking or kinking the electrical cord, which therefore does not pass internally along the movable arms.

The shade with a "handle": The semi-spherical lampshade is surrounded by a distinctive metal ring that functions as a handle, designed to direct the light with precision without burning your fingers when the lamp heats the metal.

Industrial style and patina: This particular specimen shows a beautiful vintage patina, with signs of wear and rust on the original light-green/blue-ish paint (often described as vert de eau), which enhances its historic charm.

The customized base: The lamp is mounted on a heavy dark circular base, a brake disc from a car, a classic solution used by restorers to add stability to these lamps, originally intended to be fixed directly to workbenches or machine tools in workshops.
