Salvador Dalí’s Les mil i una nits, a Catalan original, is a numbered bibliophile edition (235/999) in hardcover, published by Enciclopèdia Catalana in 2014, comprising 224 pages with a presentation case and protective sleeve.
Description from the seller
Salvador Dalí – The Thousand and One Nights. A numbered, limited-edition bibliophile edition. Copy no. 235/999.
Spectacular luxury edition dedicated to one of the least known and most poetic series created by Salvador Dalí. Published by Enciclopèdia Catalana in 2014, this first worldwide edition recovers for the first time in editorial format the 50 original illustrations that the artist produced in 1966 for an ambitious interpretation of The Thousand and One Nights, which had remained unpublished in the format for which they were conceived for almost half a century.
This copy corresponds to number 235 in a strictly limited run of only 999 copies, evidenced by an official numbered certificate, signed by the Director General of Enciclopèdia Catalana and notarized, which guarantees the authenticity of the edition and its numbering.
The work is presented in an impressive large-format case, made with high-quality materials and cloth-covered, with an elegant purple finish and an engraved identification plate. Inside, perfectly protected, are housed:
* The main volume Dalí. Les mil i una nits, in large format with magnificent binding.
* A second study volume entitled Les mil i una nits de Salvador Dalí, which documents the origin, development and historical significance of the project, accompanied by abundant critical apparatus and illustrations.
* Original numbered certificate with notarial authentication.
* Original preservation case.
The edition stands out for its extraordinary print quality on heavy-weight art paper, faithfully reproducing Dalí’s watercolors, drawings and original compositions with exceptional chromatic richness.
The presentation, the materials used and the careful editorial design make the set a genuine work of contemporary bibliophilia.
The illustrations belong to one of the artist’s most distinctive projects, in which Dalí interprets the fantastical and oriental universe of The Thousand and One Nights through a fully surreal language, with extraordinary freedom of form and color.
Many of these compositions remained unpublished for decades, which gives this publication special artistic and documentary interest.
Condition: Excellent. The copy retains its original case, numbered certificate and all the elements that made up the edition. Presentation practically flawless.
