The “Ären-plateel” is a type of Belgian decorative ceramic from the 1930s, produced by the Brussels Ceramics manufacture in Haren (near Brussels). This earthenware is renowned for its stylized, colorful floral motifs, characteristic of the famous “Gouda style,” and often bears the marks “C.B.” (Céramique de Bruxelles) and “Ären.” Characteristics and origin: produced in Haren (“Ären” being the local name for Haren) by Céramiques de Bruxelles.
