Antique French parclose mirror (also known as a cushion mirror or bridal mirror) in the Napoleon III style. These handy mirrors typically date from the second half of the 19th century (circa 1870–1890).
Important features:
Frame & Technique: The mirror is made of chased brass or latten copper (Repoussé) with a dark patinated finish on a wooden base.
Parclose Construction: The central mirror glass is sloped downward, surrounded by four smaller mirror strips along the edges.
Decoration: Equipped with a richly worked crested crown with floral motifs, scrolls (volutes), and distinctive floral ornaments at the four corners.
