Description from the seller

Monumental Luigi XV mirror in gilded wood

Imposing triptych fireplace mirror in the Luigi XV style, made in gilded wood between the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. The structure, of great elegance and dramatic impact, consists of a wide central curved panel flanked by two side mirrors.
The frame, entirely contoured and without straight lines, is richly carved with rocaille motifs, acanthus leaves and sinuous volutes, culminating in an upper openwork pediment of extraordinary refinement.
The shaped base rests on finely carved corner feet, giving balance and majesty to the whole.
A work of great decorative and representational value, ideal for interiors of the late 19th to early 20th century or prestigious salons, where light and reflections enhance its ornamental richness and the depth of perspective.
