Dagger-sheath - Africa (No reserve price)

Dagger with a straight blade in the traditional Tuareg style (Saharan region, Algeria/Ahaggar, Niger or Mali), featuring the classic aesthetic characteristics of this craft.

Blade length: about 38-40 cm (measured with a tape measure)
Total length (blade + handle + pommel): about 48-50 cm
The blade, in steel, with a symmetrical point, is adorned with an engraved pattern in registers of crescent/scales motifs arranged in two parallel lines, executed with a fine regularity of line.
The handle, wood covered with fine leather engraved with lines and circles, ends in a distinctive bulbous pommel in the shape of a button, secured by leather-and-thread lashing.
The sheath, leather-wrapped in red/burgundy, features a particularly neat cold-stamped decoration: concentric circles, square geometric registers and denticled borders. The quality of this leather work stands out clearly, with regular tanning and stamping.
Important note: this piece is offered as an object in the traditional Tuareg style, without authentication certificate or precise dating established. The patina and wear suggest an item that has been used, but the exact age cannot be guaranteed.
