Cantagalli Florence, Italian Renaissance Revival maiolica urn, dating to the late 19th century, made of ceramic with a 15 cm width, 23 cm height and 10 cm depth, in excellent condition with a cobalt blue cockeral mark on the underside.

Attributed to Cantagalli, Florence – Italian Renaissance Revival Maiolica Urn, late 19th century.
A finely executed Italian Renaissance Revival maiolica urn, attributed to the celebrated Florentine workshop of Cantagalli, dating to the late 19th century. Elegantly modelled with richly scrolling twin handles terminating in expressive ram's masks, the body is lavishly hand-painted with Renaissance grotesques, winged cherubs, scrolling foliage, mascarons and classical ornament, reflecting the revivalist aesthetic for which Cantagalli became internationally renowned. The underside bears a hand-painted cobalt blue cockerel mark traditionally associated with the Cantagalli factory, and the overall form, decoration and quality are consistent with the finest Florentine Renaissance Revival maiolica.
Presented in excellent original condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration, this beautifully preserved example displays exceptional quality of both modelling and decoration. A highly decorative and collectible work of Italian maiolica, offering both historical significance and outstanding decorative appeal.
