Rare oval plate in ouraline from the collection « Valambert », produced by the Val Saint Lambert and listed in the 1913 catalog. Testimony to the remarkable know-how of the Belgian crystal works at the beginning of the 20th century, this piece captivates as much by the finesse of its geometric decoration as by its luminous yellow-green hue characteristic of the ouraline. Under ultraviolet light, the glass reveals a spectacular green fluorescence, highlighting the full richness of its composition.

The plate features a shallow circular form with a waved rim, cut into a succession of broad rounded lobes. Its decoration, entirely molded, centers around an imposing central rosette composed of long radiating facets evoking a star. This is surrounded by a frieze of relief petals alternating with small geometric motifs cut into stars, while the wing is outlined by broad shield-shaped reservations that rhythmically frame the contour. The whole offers a remarkable play of reliefs and transparency, enhanced by the gentle coloration of the ouraline. The piece bears in its center the molded signature « VAL ST LAMBERT BELGIQUE », guaranteeing its authenticity.

The condition is remarkable. The plate shows no chip, no crack, no restoration. Only two small areas bear very light superficial scratches, visible under certain lighting angles and with no impact on the piece’s aesthetic quality. The surface retains all its original shine and the fluorescence under UV remains particularly intense, as illustrated by the photographs.

Made in ouraline, a glass whose coloration is achieved by adding a small amount of uranium oxide, this plate displays the famous intense green fluorescence that today makes the charm and uniqueness of this historical material. Used in very small concentrations, this oxide primarily provides the optical properties of the glass and is a particularly valued feature by enthusiasts of antique glass.
