rare late 19th-century
Austrian silver-mounted
and hand-cut amber
crystal trumpet vase.
Crafted in Vienna
during the historic
Arts & Crafts /
Historicism era
(circa 1890).
The base is made
of solid 800/1000
silver, hollow inside
without weighting,
and bears the official
Austrian-Hungarian
assay hallmarks
alongside the famous
master silversmith
monogram "HR" for
Hermann Ratzersdorfer
(Vienna).
Ratzersdorfer was
one of the leading
Viennese goldsmiths
of the second half
of the 19th century,
internationally
acclaimed for his
museum-quality
works combining
precious mounts
with crystal.
The vase features
a beautifully
hand-blown and
deeply faceted
amber crystal body
with a classic
diamond overlay
decor. Perfect
cabinet piece for
fine antique
collectors.

factory manufacturing
process (completely
normal for hand-blown
glass of this era,
not a flaw).
