Important wall mirror of historical character, made in carved and stuccoed wood, with water gilding, following decorative models of Baroque tradition. The piece presents an elegant vertical format, topped by a richly carved upper pediment with scrolls and symmetrical vegetal motifs, a distinctive element of mirrors of representation inspired by late Baroque.
The frame is lavishly worked, with deep moulding and protruding elements along its entire perimeter, conceived to enhance the play of light on the gilding. The quality of the carving and the harmony of the overall design recall historicist productions of the 19th century, made according to classical canons and intended for prestigious interiors.
It preserves its antique glass, with patina, slight undulations and small imperfections typical of the passage of time, features common and appreciated in original period pieces. The gilding shows natural wear and small pinpoint losses, coherent with its age and reinforcing its authenticity.
