Carriage clock - - Cast brass - 1910-1920

Elegant French travel clock (carriage clock) made of brass with faceted glass panels and a mechanical movement.

The case bears the stamp 'Made in France'. Despite careful inspection, no maker's marks or movement inscriptions could be determined on either the case or the movement.

The clock was cleaned and inspected by a clockmaker about ten years ago. Since then it has run reliably. Only a slight readjustment of the platform escapement was required. In my observation it today shows only a minimal daily deviation.

The brass case is in good, age-appropriate condition with a beautiful natural patina. All faceted glass panes are present and well preserved. A suitable winding key is included; whether it is the original key is not known.

The clock is in well-kept collector's condition and is ready to use immediately.
