Rare mechanical manual slicer ROB, Type 635, dating presumably from the late 1950s, with the characteristic design of post-war European household equipment.
This model is distinguished by its folding design, allowing to greatly reduce its footprint when not in use. The frame combines wood, turquoise blue Formica, ivory lacquered metal and stainless steel, creating a vintage aesthetic particularly decorative.
The slicer is equipped with a substantial circular steel blade, marked “L. & W. ROB – Acier garanti”, as well as the mention INOX 18/8 on several elements. The original label indicates ROB – Type 635 – registered trademark / gedeponeerd merk.
The mechanism is entirely manual, operated by a black-handled crank. The sliding plate features a system to adjust the cutting thickness. A sturdy metal clamping press allows the device to be fixed to the worktop during use.
Particularly interesting for its folding system and its material combination, this slicer constitutes both a functional vintage kitchen utensil and a beautiful object representative of 1950s design.
