Antique white marble pedestal/gravestone from Belgium, dating to the 20th century, measuring 62 x 44 x 44 cm and weighing about 100 kg, with a carved inscription on one side for daughter Yvonne (8 February 1912 – 9 February 1913), in good used condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Massive antique pedestal/gravestone carved from white marble with subtle grey veins and a natural, lightly patinated appearance. The pedestal has a square shape with a profiled plinth and a richly worked decorative edge, finished with classic profile mouldings. The clean, smoothly finished side surfaces harmoniously contrast with the refined profiles of the top and bottom. The fine marble grain and the carefully polished surface highlight the high craftsmanship and give the whole a timeless, monumental look.
3 sides are flat. Only 1 side has carved-out letters: a daughter Yvonne died after 1 year and 1 day: 8 February 1912 - 9 February 1913
Dimensions: H 62 cm; 44 x 44 cm,
Fully marble, thus very heavy, about 100 kg, but beautiful!
Prefer pickup available at 3770 Riemst due to the weight.
Of course it can also be shipped on a pallet in coordination with the buyer. Shipping costs depend on the destination country.
NOTE: Catawiki obliges me to state shipping costs, which is not accurate, as this is not easy to ship, hence the generic "1234" entered everywhere, which is NOT correct. I will agree the shipping costs with the buyer, depending on their country.
Tip: you can also pick it up on a Sunday morning because there is the weekly large antique market in Tongeren (people from all over the world come to this weekly antique market) 8 km from home. You could pick it up there during the market on Sunday.
Riemst is also only 8 km from Maastricht and 20 km from Liège.
