This is a vintage wall coat rack, recognizable by its typical mid-century modern design from the 50s or 60s.
The upper large chrome frame is for laying hats, caps, or bags.
On the lower rod there are several small hooks for hanging jackets. The whole thing is mounted
on an elongated backplate, which at the time was often covered with colored skai leather.
