Description from the seller

Magnificent and rare oscillating pendulum wall clock (pendule boule style), from the Napoleon III / Art Nouveau period (circa 1890-1910).

A striking French piece with substantial presence thanks to its overall 70x39 cm. The spherical body (36x24 cm) features a finely burgundy red enamel, hand-decorated with delicate golden floral motifs inspired by the East. Notable is its hollowed circular dial and gilded bronze surrounds.

It bears a French patent seal Breveté S.G.D.G., maker F.T. (No. 2427) and the signature of the Madrid distributor García - Piquet, in addition to its original later instruction label.

Aesthetically in excellent condition; requires clockmaking service, runs for a few seconds and then stops, it may be due to needing cleaning and lubrication of the mechanism or simply that I have not managed to level it well or adjust the pendulum counterweight, since these mechanisms are very sensitive to leveling and pendulum counterweight; in the worst case it would only need cleaning and lubrication.

Very hard to obtain and much less so in such good condition and with the mechanism functioning; it is delivered as-is in the photographs and in the described conditions.
