Christofle - Tea service (5) - Silverplated

Elegant and rare original Christofle tea service, dating to the early 1920s, an expression of the excellence of French jewelry/metalwork and the Art Deco taste.

The lot comprises teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and milk jug, accompanied by an important Gallia service tray, Christofle production, which harmoniously completes the ensemble.

This model was exhibited in 1925 at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, where it was presented among the most interest­ing pieces of the exhibition dedicated to French decorative arts of the 20th century.

The tableware stands out for its remarkable brilliance and for an exceptional state of conservation, a quality increasingly hard to find in objects over a hundred years old.

The Gallia tray, however, shows signs of age consistent with its era: widespread black speckling on the surface, some wear and oxidation traces, as well as normal signs of use visible on the back. All conditions are clearly documented in the photographs.

This is a set of great historical and collectible charm: the slight imperfections of the tray do not compromise the overall elegance or the value of the service, but they attest to its authenticity and long history.
