Jean-Christophe Béchet's signed first edition of 'American Puzzle' is a hardcover, 240-page bilingual French–English photography monograph limited to 750 copies, with dust jacket and a signed presentation booklet plus two signed postcards.
Description from the seller
Signed on the first page by Jean-Christophe Béchet, published in a limited edition of 750 copies, unique and unobtainable elsewhere today on the internet, whether signed or unsigned, as it is completely sold out. 240 pages and 175 full-page color photographs, text in French and English by Jean-Christophe Béchet. Grey clothbound binding with the title on the cover and back and a illustrated dust jacket. The book is accompanied by a small presentation booklet of the exhibition presented by Jean-Christophe Béchet at the International Photography Encounters in 2012 titled "Accidents", signed (16 pages, 18 cm x 25 cm) as well as two postcards issued on this occasion, also signed. Copy in excellent condition, practically like new.
Built in two stages and two movements, this book of 175 photographs is the result of 17 trips to the United States between 1996 and 2011. Neither a reporter nor a photojournalist, Jean-Christophe Béchet has adopted the point of view of the visitor, the walker, of someone who traverses spaces and follows their path to confront it with memory and knowledge. By mixing various photographic materials, he plunges us into a country in which a sense of unease is evident.
Jean-Christophe Béchet has for several decades pursued a photographic œuvre characterized both by street photography—shooting in the street, in passing—or what is known as Street Photo, a tradition the American photographic tradition has preserved as a distinct genre, as well as large‑space photography.
Copy in excellent condition, practically like new; book from my personal collection kept with the greatest care. Very effective protected shipping and international postal tracking guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, group shipment possible with reimbursement of excess postage paid via Paypal.
