(Museum sized) SKY BLUE AMAZONITE single crystal - Height: 24 cm - Width: 13.1 cm- 3935 g - (1)

A huge amazonite crystal from precisely the Amazonian pegmatites from which this lead-rich feldspar variety got its name. The piece weighs about 4.5kg and displays a pretty uniform vivid sky blue color all around the main crystal, which also shows a sharply and beautifully defined shape following the quintessential habit for untwinned microcline, but just a lot bigger, creating an almost unbelievable looking specimen. It is also worth noting the presence of a bed of white cleavelandite on the specimen's base over which the microcline has grown, creating a nice contrast when the piece is appreciated from the sides.
