Description
Magnificent period binding that brings together the collection of the professional watchmaking magazine “El Cronómetro”, published in Badalona between 1893 and 1898.
Considered one of the most important technical publications in Spanish watchmaking of the late 19th century, this work constitutes a valuable documentary source for historians, watchmakers, collectors and scholars of timekeeping.
The volume includes issues published from no. 1 (April 1893) to no. 69 (December 1898), bound in a single volume with leather spine and tips. It contains abundant illustrations, technical engravings, studies of watchmaking, specialized articles, advertisements from manufacturers and dealers of clocks, tools and supplies of the era.
Among its pages there are interesting references to the Spanish and European watchmaking industry, as well as historical advertising from 19th-century manufacturers and distributors.
The magazine is documented in specialized bibliography on the history of Spanish watchmaking.
Condition in accordance with its age. Solid binding with wear visible on covers and spine. Paper with patina typical of the period.
