Laocoön and His Sons. Laocoön was a Trojan priest who warned the Trojans against accepting the Trojan Horse plan, thus angering Athena, who supported the Greeks. The goddess sent two giant serpents to strangle Laocoön and his two sons. The original group sculpture depicts him enduring excruciating pain and struggling desperately. Made of plaster, in excellent condition.
