Magnificent bracelet of Peruvian turquoise pearls combined with small spheres of 18-carat yellow gold (the same material as its closure, in the shape of an olive).
Peruvian turquoise is a rare form of the gemstone chrysocolla. It presents a greener and veined tone than ordinary turquoise. It has been the sacred stone of the South American Incas for centuries. Traditionally used in Peru today as an ornamental stone for the production of spiritual amulets.
For almost a thousand years, Native Americans have been mining turquoise and making their sacred jewelry with it. They believe their minds connect with the universe when wearing a turquoise amulet. There is an ancient belief that the turquoise color is affected by the physical and mental condition of the person who wears it. It is said that the color fades when its owner is sick or sad, and that it loses all color when a person dies. Conversely, if the owner is happy and healthy, the turquoise color is more saturated.
