How greatly I regret not yet having been able to offer you a meeting! I am beginning to resume my duties and I have a large backlog to clear. Nevertheless I would not want to delay any longer in speaking with you, especially to ask what impressions you bring back from America.

I heard from you while you were there through our friend Coudert. Would you come next Monday at three o’clock? If that time suits you, please do not trouble to reply. Otherwise, kindly indicate the days and times that would be convenient for you [...]"
