Description from the seller

This cane features a modernist-style handle, silver repoussé. It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century, specifically the Modernist / Art Nouveau period (1890s to 1910s).

The handle is made of silver with a corrugated or striated (caterpillar-type) design in the Mylord or Fritz style, with organic shapes, curves and spiral-grooved textures, very characteristic of the modernist aesthetic of the era.

It is somewhat worn as you can see in the photos, showing signs of aging and patina, with surface cracking in the metal and signs of use.

The shaft of the cane is glossy black, made of noble wood such as beech.

This type of accessory was a symbol of distinction and social status at the turn of the century.
