Artsome – Pair of vintage leather club armchairs – Europe – 1980–1995
Description
A distinctive pair of vintage leather club armchairs by Artsome, produced in Europe between approximately 1980 and 1995.
The armchairs are upholstered in thick brown leather with a rich, naturally developed patina. The leather shows attractive colour variations, creasing, scratches and wear consistent with age and use, giving both chairs an authentic vintage character.
The design is inspired by traditional English club and library chairs, featuring generously curved backrests, rolled arms, decorative brass-coloured nailhead trim and turned wooden front legs fitted with metal castors. The rear legs are made of dark-stained wood.
Both armchairs retain their removable leather seat cushions and offer a comfortable, deep seating position. The Artsome manufacturer’s label is present.
Condition
The chairs are in used vintage condition. The leather shows extensive patina, surface cracking, scratches, rubbing and colour loss, particularly on the seat cushions and armrests. There are also small marks and signs of wear on the rear leather panels and wooden legs.
These traces of use are clearly visible in the photographs and form part of the authentic vintage appearance. No major structural damage is visible.
