Offered is an extremely elegant and substantial silver tray from the world-renowned Amsterdam court jeweler and silversmith As. Bonebakker & Zoon. This exclusive tray was crafted in the top workshop of master silversmith P. Pieterse in Amsterdam, a craftsman known for his high-end large-silver work on commission from the most exclusive Dutch jewelers.
The tray features a splendid, flowing contoured and profiled edge in the classical Louis XV / Rococo style and rests on finely cast silver feet. Thanks to its impressive weight of no less than 1088 grams, the tray lies very solidly in the hand and radiates pure quality.
Fully and purely hallmarked on the underside with:
- Merchant's mark: BONEBAKKER EN ZOON.
- Master mark Bonebakker: AB&Z above a balance scale
- Master mark silversmith P. Pieterse: PP beneath an anchor
- Fineness mark: Standing Lion 1 (for 1st quality silver, 925/1000 Sterling)
- Date letter: Z (for the year 1959)
- Assay mark: Minerva’s head
