Description from the seller

We offer at auction a fascinating and elegant pair of oval wall frames, made in Italy in the first half of the 20th century (circa 1920-1930).

The frames are characterized by a rich decorative relief in stucco on a wooden structure, skilfully gilded with a warm and enveloping tone.

The design echoes the classic aesthetic canons of the Louis XV style, highlighted by:

External carved band: Decorated with beveled, fishbone-like motifs that give movement and reflect light.

Internally refined profiles: They feature a regular sequence of beaded elements (kymation) juxtaposed with scrolls and shell-shaped projections and rocaille along the inner battuta.

Depth and three-dimensionality: The pronounced reliefs create a suggestive play of light and shadow, making these frames perfect for enhancing period portraits, miniatures, oil paintings, or shaped mirrors.

Photos are an integral part of the description.

The item will be packed with the utmost care and professionalism to ensure safe delivery.

Shipping will be tracked and insured.
We ship worldwide. Any customs duties or import charges outside the EU are the buyer’s responsibility.
