An extraordinarily elegant work in Carrara white marble, a perfect example of Neoclassical taste that recalls the splendor of the great European residences of the 18th and 19th centuries.
The vase is a monumental urn with lid, characterized by a Greco-Roman inspired structure. The style is purely Neoclassical (Louis XVI or Empire style).
Decorated with a central bas-relief frieze depicting garlands of fruit and shells. At the bottom it features a Greek key motif and acanthus leaves in relief.
The handles are the most distinctive part, decorated with a bipartite figure of two mythological beings supported by boar heads.
The lid features a bead-and-reed decoration and ends with a pinecone-shaped knob.
