Description from the seller
Elegant centerpieces / crystal fruit bowl cut with a hammered finish, with a base in 800 silver, Italian-made, associated with the Florentine craftsmanship.
Era
Second half of the 20th century, presumably 1960s–1980s.
The mark with a star + number + provincial abbreviation “FI” (Florence) is typical of the Italian system introduced after 1968, which identifies the silversmith and the production province.
Origin
Italian production – Florence (FI), an important historic center of artistic silverware.
Punching/Stamp
Title: 800 (silver 80%)
Brand: star + identifying number (334) + FI
This system certifies both the silver purity and the registered silversmith.
Materials
Bowl: cut crystal with incised geometric and floral motifs
Base: solid 800 silver (likely hollow structure with internal core, typical Italian production)
Manufacturing Techniques
Crystal worked with geometric and floral cuts (classic “molato” style)
Sculpted profile with wavy edge
Base in silver produced by:
- casting and turning
- mirror-polishing
- possible manual finishing
The contrast between the transparency of the crystal and the brilliance of the silver gives great elegance and luminosity.
Dimensions
Length: 33 cm
Width: 15 cm
Height: 12 cm
Style
Classic Italian for the table, with echoes of an elegant mid-century taste, suitable both as a fruit bowl and as a decorative element.
Condition
Excellent overall condition
Crystal free of cracks
Notes
Refined decorative object, typical of Italian production intended for both the high-end domestic market and export. The presence of the complete hallmark increases collectible interest.
