Description from the seller
Erwin Olaf - Fall Catalogue - ISBN: 978-9086902132 (Veenman / exhibition edition)
Published on the occasion of exhibitions at the Hague Museum of Photography and the Institut Neerlandais in Paris, this catalogue showcases the 'Fall' series by acclaimed Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf.
The work features full-page colour illustrations and includes an essay by Jonathan Turner.
The series consists of fifteen portraits of people and still lifes, printed in large format with high quality. In these images, models are often depicted with averted eyes or staring into nothingness, evoking a sense of surrealism and emotional impact.
The combination with still lifes of flowers and the title of the series highlight what may very well be the key theme of Fall – the transient nature of beauty.
Faded price sticker on the back.
The exhibition in The Hague Museum of Photography was the world premiere of the series, held from 27 September 2008 to 18 January 2009.
The exhibition in Institut Neerlandais in Paris was held from 14 May to 15 July 2009.
