Splendid and elegant vintage bed set (1940s), expression of the highest Italian artisanal tradition of handmade bedding. The set is entirely filet crochet geometric lace work, completely handmade in Murano (Venice) and consists of a bedspread and two coordinated pillow shams, made in white pure cotton yarn of medium thickness, extremely stable and full.
The bedspread is composed of no fewer than 1184 circular motifs with floral patterns (stylized roses/daisies) geometrically joined by crochet. Measures 295 cm in length by 215 cm in width. It is completed with two pillow shams, each made up of 108 identical floral motifs to those of the coverlet; dimensions: 80 cm x 55 cm.
Total weight of the lot: 2394 grams (testifying to the density and quality of the thread of the era).
It has been preserved for over 90 years in impeccable condition and is truly beautiful, precious, and suitable for any style of furnishings (as well as being a small collectible masterpiece).
