Description from the seller
Original five-seat block from a cinema/theatre hall of SMI (Società Metallurgica Italiana). Classic, sturdy period structure designed for heavy use.
The seats are made of bent wood with a glossy finish that highlights the grain. The legs are made of black metal, simple and functional. The seats are of the flip-up type (they close by themselves when not occupied).
Conditions (Read carefully):
The chairs are used and preserved in their original state. They have not been restored to new condition, so they show all the marks of their history:
Wood: Scratches, small chips and scattered signs of wear (especially on the edges and armrests). In one spot there is a small loss of the top layer of wood (see detailed photo).
Metal: The black paint on the legs shows small spots of superficial rust and scratches, but the structure is perfectly solid and stable.
Mechanics: The tilting mechanism of the seats still works well on all four seats.
