Impressive pair of gilt bronze andirons from the Louis XVI period. Pair of large gilt-bronze andirons adorned with two baluster vases with two handles surrounding a grenade motif on a balustrade.

The grenade motif, or the “bursting bomb,” was used by the merchant-founder Pitoin (1757-1806), notably on fires for the crown in the 1770s.
