Renée Jacobs - Paris - 2022

PARIS by Renée Jacobs is at once an artistic project and a visual document that reflects a woman’s view of other women in the city of Paris. The work stands out from conventional nude or erotic photography; it is not a typical nude book, nor a repetition of familiar artistic formats.

Jacobs’s approach is grounded in a social and humanistic perspective, exploring themes such as nudity, freedom, intimacy, and desire as fundamental aspects of the human experience. The project is based on collaboration: the women portrayed are not anonymous agency models, but people whom Jacobs personally knows and with whom she works directly.
