AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

UNION SPECIAL industrial sewing machine with manual drive (late 19th – early 20th century)

The item up for auction is a vintage industrial sewing machine made of cast iron, equipped with a manual crank drive.

The machine was purchased by my grandmother in an antique shop during a foreign trip and has remained in the family collection since then.

No nameplate or visible serial numbers were found on the machine.

The construction is made of solid cast iron and indicates an industrial purpose for the machine.

The mechanism was checked by manually turning the crank. While turning, all observed parts of the mechanism move, but operate with a noticeable resistance.

During inspection of the interior of the mechanism it was found that:
- the component marked with the orange arrow in the photo makes a continuous 360° rotation,
- the component marked with the yellow arrow makes a pendular movement – it moves left and right.

Since it was not possible to unambiguously identify the mechanism, I describe only how the individual elements operate, without assigning them specific names.

The machine has retained its original patina and natural signs of use appropriate for its age. It is an interesting collectible object, decorative, and an intriguing material for further research and identification.
